14% of US broadband homes plan to buy streaming media player

Some 14 percent of US broadband households plan to buy a streaming media player by the middle of 2016, according to Parks. The survey shows that purchase intention for streaming media devices have stayed consistent for the last 2 years, with an uptick around the holiday season. The market researcher states that 31 percent of US broadband homes owned a streaming player in the third quarter, compared to 27 percent at the start of the year.
