3 Austria ends 2013 with 26 percent mobile market share

Monday 3 March 2014 | 09:57 CET | News
3 Austria said it held a 26 percent share in the country's mobile telephony market at the end of 2013, thanks to its strong position in smartphones and mobile internet. The Hutchison Whampoa unit said it was the only operator in Austria to expand its market share last year. It ended the year with 3.428 million customers, of whom 2.48 million were active ones. CEO Jan Trionow said 2013 had been a key year, as 3 Austria had merged with Orange and generated operating synergies and benefits for customers.
