3 UK files GBP 160 mln lost profit lawsuit against EE

Hutchison 3G UK (3 UK) has filed a lawsuit against network sharing partner EE claiming almost GBP 160 million in lost profit, reports The Times newspaper. The lawsuit accuses EE of failing to install 3G equipment at 3,000 sites for 3 UK to use as agreed in their 2010 network sharing agreement. This deal was part of the EC's approval for the merger of the Orange and T-Mobile networks to form EE. Court papers seen by The Times show that EE has installed 3G equipment at only 1,301 of the 3,000 sites requested by 3 UK, hindering the smaller operator's commercial progress. The lawsuit estimates
