33% of UK broadband homes subscribe to OTT video - study

One third (33%) of UK broadband homes were subscribed to an OTT video service as of Q3 2015, according to the 'Connected Consumer in Europe' research report from Parks Associates. It also showed that just 15 percent of UK homes with pay-TV subscribe to premium movie channels. OTT video usage in the UK favours broadcasters, with the most popular OTT video sources including BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD (now All4) and Demand5. However, there are market opportunities for new OTT video players, with almost 20 percent of UK broadband homes having used a Netflix service, despite the free OTT
