4G in China to cover over 300 cities this year

Commercial 4G services are expected to cover over three hundred cities in China this year, with the user base forecast to reach thirty to fifty million, according to Wen Ku, head of the Department of Communications Development at China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). He also said the ministry would employ market-centric methods to push 4G prices down in response to recent consumer criticism that prices are too high, the Marbridge Daily writes citing a Tencent Tech report. China Mobile is rolling out 4G in two phases this year and expects to reach 100 cities by March
