5G expected to return RAN market to growth

Friday 27 January 2017 | 08:49 CET | News
The radio access network (RAN) market is expected to return to growth towards 2021 due to strong adoption of 5G, according to a report by Dell'Oro Group. Consumers' appetite for mobile data coupled with the impending transition toward 5G form the basis for improved market conditions in the outer years of the forecast. The projected cumulative revenues between 2017 and 2021 are anticipated to be the lowest in a five-year period since Dell'Oro Group began tracking the market in 2000.
