5G is top priority for both RTR and BEREC

Thursday 5 April 2018 | 12:49 CET | News
Austrian regulator RTR has announced in its latest newsletter that 5G will be the top topic for this year. According to RTR chairman Johannes Gungl, who also has taken on the role of chairman of European regulators' body BEREC from the beginning of this year, 5G needs to be understood not only as a new mobile standard, but also a universal platform, allowing increased profitability in various industries, such as media and entertainment, health, automotive, industry and agriculture. RTR refers in the newsletter to BEREC's 5G study prepared by DotEcon and Axon.
