5G smartphones shipments to pass 4G in 2023 - study

The number of 5G smartphones shipped will reach nearly 800 million in 2023, making up 51.4 percent of all smartphone shipments, according to the latest study from Canalys. This means 5G smartphones will pass 4G five years after 5G's global commercial launch. With a CAGR of 179.9 percent for 2019-2023, the cumulated number of 5G smartphones shipped will hit almost 1.9 billion by then end of the period. Greater China will account for 34 percent of all 5G smartphone shipments in 2023, followed by North America with 18.8 percent and Asia Pacific with 17.4 percent. In 2020, 17.5 percent of
