A1 invests almost EUR 100 mln on broadband in Upper Austria

Wednesday 25 February 2015 | 11:24 CET | News
A1 Telekom Austria has announced that it will invest almost EUR 100 million in broadband expansion in Upper Austria. The provider plans to connect another 100,000 households to the A1 fibre grid by the end of 2016. Currently, A1 provides 60 percent of households (400,000) with broadband in the federal state. A1's LTE coverage is currently at 49 percent, and the provider aims to have the expansion largely completed by the end of 2016. With the help of the Broadband Billion, less populated regions can be supplied with fast internet connections.
