Abertis unveils new telecoms infrastructure management model

Spanish infrastructure operator Abertis Telecom, which owns some 5,500 mobile towers in Spain, presented a model of integrated management of urban telecoms infrastructure at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to the operator, cities like London and New York have already implemented some of the services, but Barcelona is the first Spanish city to use this innovative management model, which sees the city opens up its fibre optic infrastructure, Wi-Fi access points and street cabinets to provide access to different service providers through Abertis.
