Acer announces first NFC phone, Liquid Express

Taiwanese consumer ICT equipment maker Acer has unveiled its first NFC smartphone, the Acer Liquid Express, scheduled for release at the end of the year. The handset has received the necessary security standards from the NFC Forum 2 and Cityzi consortia to provide m-commerce services. Acer France's director of business development, Augustin Becquet, lists several applications for mobile phone NFC technology, such as payment, transport, ticketing, customer loyalty and cultural information.
