Acer plans USD 99 Android tablet early next year - report

Acer plans to launch an Android tablet costing about USD 99 early next year, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing someone with direct knowledge of the matter. The Iconia B1 7-in tablet will feature a 1,204 x 600 pixel screen and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, similar to Amazon's Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble's Nook Colour, which sell for USD 139. The person said Acer plans to sell the new tablet in emerging markets and will set the retail price on a country-by-country basis. The company has also submitted the device for clearance by the US FCC, but it is not sure whether it will be
