Acer to expand global smartphone shipments

Acer expects its global smartphone shipments to grow significantly this year compared to 1 million units in 2014, by selling more mid- and entry-level devices in more countries, Taipei Times reported. The firm expects its recently launched Liquid E3 smartphone to contribute to expanding smartphone shipments globally. The Liquid E3 comes with a 4.7-inch display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera. The smartphone runs Android 4.2. The PC manufacturer also confirmed it expects to collaborate with a top-tier telecommunications operator in Europe to sell its new smartphone
