ACM argues against duopolies

Thursday 9 February 2017 | 10:25 CET | News
Dutch regulator ACM has responded to comments by a top telecoms director at the European Commission on the regulatory approach to duopolies. Anthony Whelan, director of the DG Connect, told trade journal MLex in January that regulators are too keen intervene and in the case of a duopoly, it may be better not to regulate, rather than always trying to control the market. According to the response from the ACM, Whelan is adopting the industry standpoint, which claims that duopolies are good for the market.
