ACM finds 3G traffic past peak in Netherlands

Data traffic on 3G networks in the Netherlands fell for the first time in the first quarter of 2016, according to the latest market monitor from regulator ACM. It noted that it was unclear still whether this was a one-off or a structural trend. Traffic in the first three months of 2016 on UMTS networks totalled 12.54 million GB, down from 13.25 million in Q4 2015. The 4G traffic grew to 22.43 million GB in Q1. The ACM estimates that KPN accounts for the most data traffic, at 40-45 percent of the total. T-Mobile and Vodafone each account for around 20-25 percent, and Tele2 and the MVNOs each
