ACM rules out cable access regulation

Dutch regulator ACM has again concluded that access regulation for cable networks is not needed. The regulator commissioned a report from researcher WIK on the matter, after the merger of cable operators UPC and Ziggo led to the creation of a second near-national network. The ACM said that the report found in general fewer opportunities for wholesale access to cable networks compared to what's possible over KPN's copper and fibre networks.
