Adtran deploys business service platform for Vocus

Wednesday 12 April 2017 | 14:05 CET | News

Australian operator Vocus Communications is deploying a range of its access technologies including Adtran’s XGS-PON and Mosaic architecture. The deployment, which is in its final stages of preparedness, is designed to enable high utilization of Vocus’ metro fiber network while enabling 10Gbps symmetrical business grade capacity.

Vocus will use Adtran’s Multi Service Access Nodes, 10G Optical Line Termination (OLT) equipment and 10G Optical Network Termination (ONT) units to build out the 10G PON deployment. Additionally, Vocus will be using the Adtran Mosaic Cloud Platform as an open microservices architecture providing network management and SDN control for the 10Gbps services access network. The Adtran Mosaic technology is designed to unlock control and management functions from the underlying network elements, enabling a more flexible services delivery framework.
