Advertising industry develops self-regulation to fight hate speech and other harmful content

The Global Alliance for Responsible Media (Garm) has come out with a set of self-regulating actions the advertising industry must take to identify and fight hate speech and other harmful content. The actions include a harmonised approach to harmful content, independent audits and quick response to ads placed next to harmful content. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter have, together with marketers and agencies through the Global Alliance for Responsible Media agreed to adopt a common set of definitions to monitor and improve industry efforts.
