Africa smartphone market grows almost 2% in Q3

Africa's mobile phone shipments declined 6.0 percent year on year in Q3, as a drop in feature phones offset growth in the smartphone segment, IDC said. Its research shows that feature phone shipments declined 11.2 percent to 29.4 million, while smartphone shipments were up 1.6 percent year-on-year to 22.9 million units.
