African mobile phone market grows almost 5% in Q4, FY sales down 10%

Africa's overall mobile phone market grew 4.6 percent quarter on quarter (QoQ) in Q4 2020, according to the latest report by International Data Corporation (IDC). Looking at the year as a whole, the market declined 10.0 percent YoY in 2020, mostly caused by the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the first half the year.
