After Google, more firms may face tax cases in France

French finance minister Michel Sapin said the government will "go all the way" to make sure multinationals pay their taxes in France and that more cases could follow after those opened against Google and McDonald's. He repeated that there would be no negotiated settlement with Google, as was done in the UK. McDonald's and Google were raided, respectively, on 18 and 24 May. Google has said it is fully compliant with the law; McDonald's declined to comment specifically. The minister would not discuss financial terms on grounds of confidentiality.
