Agcom president warns of Italian lag in broadband roll-out

Italy is significantly behind the rest of Europe in the roll-out of next-generation broadband, warned the president of Agcom, Angelo Marcello Cardani, at the presentation of the regulator's annual report. While broadband is available to 97 percent of the population, there are wide differences in coverage between regions, he said. Nationwide, the digital divide was reduce by 1 percent point, MF Dow Jones reported from the presentation.
