Airbus, OHB, Thales Alenia Space to bid for contract for Galileo G2 satellites

The European Space Agency (ESA) has asked three satellite manufacturers to submit bids for the first batch of Galileo's second-generation 'G2' satellites, expected to launch by end-2024 as part of a new constellation project for the navigation system. The 'Best and Final Offer' invitation to tender was sent out to Airbus, OHB System and Thales Alenia Space, following a competitive dialogue procedure that lasted almost 24 months.
