Aire Networks acquires Orange Spain mobile assets

Spanish mobile network provider Aire Networks has announced its acquisition of the licences in the 2.6 GHz band freed up by Orange Spain as part of its merger with Jazztel. Aire Networks, which operates under the Ion Mobile brand, already uses the 2.6 GHz band in the Spanish regions of Extremadura and Valencia, and will now use the newly-acquired licences to roll out 4G services in over 500 localities in the regions of Andalucia, Aragon, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands and Castilla-Leon.
