Airtel Africa announces first closing of Tanzanian tower assets sale

Airtel Africa has announced the first closing of the transaction to sell its telecommunications tower assets in Tanzania to a joint venture company belonging to a subsidiary of SBA Communications Corporation as majority owner, and to the UK's Paradigm Infrastructure. The gross consideration will be USD 176.1 million. About USD 159 million has now been paid, with the rest payable in installments once the remaining towers have been transferred.
