Airtel Africa Q1 revenue rises 31% on favourable comparables, subscribers up 8%

Thursday 29 July 2021 | 12:22 CET | News
Airtel Africa has reported a 30.7 percent rise in revenue in the first quarter to 30 June of the 2022 financial year, to USD 1.11 billion from USD 851 million a year earlier. This was partly because of favourable prior-year comparables, with constant currency growth at 33.1 percent. The customer base grew by 8.4 percent year on year to 120.8 million from 111.5 million, and was up 15.9 percent excluding Nigeria, which has been affected by new SIM registration rules.
