Airtel Africa raises USD 125 mln in second closing of Airtel Mobile Commerce shares

Airtel Africa said it has finalised the second phase of its minority investment transactions with TPG's The Rise Fund, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Mastercard, raising another USD 125 million by selling shares in Airtel Mobile Commerce (AMC). The group said the investment transactions were finalised after certain conditions were met. It said TPG and QIA have each invested USD 50 million more, and Mastercard another USD 25 million, in the secondary purchase of shares in AMC from a subsidiary of Airtel Africa.
