Airtel Africa rules out Ethiopian licence bid as it focuses on current markets

Airtel Africa will focus on expanding in the markets where it already operates and will not bid for licences in Ethiopia, Reuters reported. The Ethiopian government plans to sell a minority stake in Ethio Telecoms within nine months and is tendering for two new licences. Airtel Africa CEO Raghunath Mandava told Reuters that the operator company sees more room to grow in the fourteen countries where it has already, including in its biggest market, Nigeria.
