Airtel completes secondary share sale in Infratel

Indian operator Bharti Airtel has announced it has completed the secondary share sale in Bharti Infratel. Proceeds will be mainly used to pare debt' issued by Bharti Airtel, promoter of Bharti Infratel.

Airtel, via its wholly owned subsidiary Nettle Infrastructure Investments, has sold 83 million equity shares aggregating to 4.49 percent of total paid up share capital of Infratel through a secondary share sale in the stock market. Following this transaction, Airtel and Nettle together have an equity holding of 53.51 percent in the share capital of Infratel.
