Airtel improves revenues revenues, ARPU in Q4 as customer base falls

Bharti Airtel has released a more detailed report for its fiscal fourth quarter to March, showing the operator returned to revenue growth in the Indian mobile market despite a continued loss of subscribers. Indian mobile revenues rose 3 percent year-on-year to INR 106.3 billion, while the number of mobile customers dropped 7 percent to 282.64 million. Airtel said ARPU improved 19 percent to INR 123 in the quarter, but needed to rise further for the industry to remain sustainable.
