Airtel modifies restructuring plans after govt reforms

Wednesday 5 January 2022 | 16:09 CET | News
Encouraged by the government of India's set of telecom reforms, Bharti Airtel said it will go ahead with the restructuring it announced in April, but under a modified scheme. The company said the reforms have "significantly" boosted the outlook and investor confidence for the industry, and simplified the country's license framework. "With a strong balance sheet and 5G ready network, (Airtel) is well positioned to invest aggressively in the emerging growth opportunities offered by India's digital economy," the company said.
