AIS to launch airtime resale programme
Advanced Info Service (AIS) (Thailand), leading mobile operator, plans to launch an airtime resale programme in March 2003 to boost sales revenue. This will involve selling bulk airtime at wholesale prices to independent companies, which then resell this to business or private customers. Further details were not disclosed. TT&T, provincial fixed-line carrier, has already announced plans to buy bulk airtime from AIS to provide mobile phone services via the AIS network. AIS expects to have 14 mil mobile phone
