Alcatel-Lucent joins ONOS open source SDN project

Alcatel-Lucent has joined the Open source SDN Network Operating System (ONOS) collaborative project of the Linux Foundation. ONOS is a carrier-grade SDN network operating system for service providers and mission critical networks, engineered to provide high availability, scalability, performance, and rich "northbound and southbound abstractions". Alcatel-Lucent said it will join leading service providers, vendors, collaborators and individual contributors to accelerate SDN/NFV adoption and drive open innovation.  Alcatel-Lucent unveiled an SDN network services platform in May. the company
