Algar aims to suspend Oi Movel sale

Thursday 3 June 2021 | 14:02 CET | News
Regional operator Algar Telecom has accused the consortium formed by rivals TIM Brasil, Telefonica Brasil (Vivo) and Claro of breaking the law, when signing the purchase of Oi Movel, according to Poder 360. The accusation was made in a note submitted to Brazil's Administative Council of Economic Defense (Cade). For Algar's lawyers, the three operators should not close the transaction without first obtaining the approval of the competent bodies, and would have committed an infraction called "gun jumping".
