Algerian executive greenlights the start of 3G+ services

The executive decree on the final granting of 3G+ licence to three mobile phone operators, namely Mobilis, Ooridoo and Djezzy, was signed Monday and sent to telecom regulator ARPT, announced the ICT ministry. ARPT chairman Mohamed Toufik Bessai said operators would be able to market 3G+ chips before mid-December. "Operators' offers will be officially validated when ARPT notifies the decree," he added, underlining that ARPT had also assigned frequencies and blocks of phone numbers for 3G+.
