Algerian govt launches pilot to extend FTTH network in Algiers province

Algeria's minister of post and telecommunications Brahim Boumzar has launched a pilot operation to extend the FTTH network in the province of Algiers, with a view to ensuring a stable and quality internet speed, reports APS. The project aims to update the TDM network in the province of Algiers, which is aging and obsolete, Boumzar told APS. He said the pilot consists of replacing the copper wire network with fibre, thus guaranteeing a real throughput of up to 100 Mbps, he added.
