Algerian operators, regulator contest GSMA 3G figures

Algerian regulator ARPT has questioned figures published by the GSMA about the penetration of 3G services in the country. The ARPT said in a statement that only it could issue official figures, based on its own definition of active subscribers, recently updated. It will communicate soon statistics on the number of mobile users in the country. According to the GSMA figures for the second quarter of 2014, only 1 percent of customers have started using 3G. Mobilis had the most 3G subscribers, at 223,600, followed by Ooredoo with 171,449. Djezzy, which launched 3G only this summer, remains the
