Algerian telecom market accounts for 4% of GDP - study

The Algerian telecom market was worth nearly DZD 456 billion (USD 5.6 billion) in 2014, or 4 percent of the country's GDP, according to a study released by Algeria's ICT ministry at mobile broadband conference with representatives of Sweden's telecom sector, Algerie Presse Service reports. This is a relatively low figure compared to regional counterparts Tunisia and Morocco, whose telecom sectors account for 13.5 percent and 7 percent of GDP, respectively.
