Algerie Telecom to launch fixed LTE for consumers in July
Algerie Telecom plans to launch fixed LTE services for residential subscribers in July, CEO Azouaou Mehmel announced at the start of information days on broadband. He explained that the operator was focusing on professional clients initially, whose need for the service is greater as part of their financial activities. The fixed 4G service for business customers was officially launched at the end of April in the capitals of the country's 48 provinces. Over 1,500 businesses have asked to be connected, Mehmel said. The company targets around 100,000 LTE customers by the end of the year, rising to 2 million in 2016.

Algerie Telecom has launched fixed LTE services for residential customers' internet access, four months after introducing the service for business users as planned. The service costs DZD 3,500 to download up to 5 GB of data within 30 days. Top-ups are available from current points of sale, online and via SMS. They include 1 GB for DZD 1,000 a month, 3 GB for 2,500 DZD, 5 GB for DZD 3,500, and 10 GB for DZD 6,500. Customers also require a modem and LTE Sim card.

Algerie Telecom offers fixed LTE access to cybercafes

Algerie Telecom has launched fixed 4G LTE services for cybercafes. The move follows the launch of fixed LTE for business customers. Cybercafes have a choice of two offers: 2 Mbps access for DZD 12,000 a month or 4 Mbps for DZD 21,000 a month. The operator said its aim is to respond to the rising demand for high-speed and very high-speed internet access and to consolidate its position as technological leader.

Algerie Telecom has increased the speeds and reduced the prices of its ADSL internet access services for business customers ahead of its launch of fixed-LTE services. ZTE announced that it is providing the infrastructure for Algerie Telecom's FDD-LTE network in 14 of Algeria's 48 provinces, including the capital Algiers.
