Alibaba acquires Israeli augmented reality start-up InfinityAR

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has acquired Infinity Augmented Reality Israel, the Ramat-Gan based AR developer, according to the Jerusalem Post. Details of the deal were not disclosed, but Globes cited market sources as estimating a deal's value to exceed USD 10 million. InfinityAR will join Alibaba's Herzliya-based Machine Vision Laboratory, established by Alibaba's DAMO Academy, its USD 15 billion technological innovation arm located in seven cities worldwide.
