Alibaba begins selling TV set-top boxes

Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba has begun selling television set-top boxes powered by its own Smart TV operating system. The Wasu Rainbow set-top boxes, provided under a partnership with internet TV services provider Wasu Media, allow users to watch on-demand TV content, shop via Alibaba's Juhuasuan platform, and pay bills via AliPay, Alibaba's affiliated e-payments company. The set-top boxes are sold via Juhuasuan for CNY 298 and customers paying through AliPay will get a CNY 50 rebate. Made by Foxconn, the device is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, features 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB
