
Alibaba Cloud also said it had established the Philippines Ecosystem Alliance – a joint initiative with local partners that provides resources and training to facilitate cloud adoption, data-intelligence use and digital-talent development for businesses across all sectors in the country.
According to representatives from Alibaba Cloud, the alliance enables is in line with the company’s goal of training 50,000 IT professionals and helping 5,000 businesses in the Philippines adopt cloud services over the next three years. Alibaba Cloud has introduced new and upgraded products and services, including a database service designed to manage hyper-scale campaigns such as Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival and process up to 87 million requests per second.
Alibaba Cloud wins deal from Unilever
Alibaba Cloud has also announced it has won a contract from home and personal-care supplier Unilever. The deal with Unilever allows the multinational company to use Alibaba Cloud’s artificial-intelligence technologies, cloud-based services and local business insights to power its digital-marketing campaigns and create tailored omnichannel experiences for consumers.
Alibaba Cloud serves 38% of companies on Fortune 500 list
Alibaba Cloud reports it currently serves 38 percent of companies on the Fortune 500 list. According to Gartner, Alibaba Group is the largest cloud-computing service provider in Asia Pacific and the third-largest in the world. Alibaba Cloud currently operates in 21 regions to support businesses in over 200 countries and territories.
Back in April, Alibaba Cloud announced plans to invest an additional CNY 200 billion (approximately USD 28 billion) to boost its cloud infrastructure over the next three years. The division also said it would hire 5,000 technology staff worldwide to meet the demand for digitization from clients.
