Thursday 29 January 2015 | 14:43 CET | News
Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba reported fourth-quarter revenues up 40 percent year-on-year to CNY 26.18 billion (USD 4.22 billion). In addition to a strong increase in sales on its various e-commerce platforms, the company benefited from takeovers in internet services, such as UCWeb and AutoNavi. Mobile revenues also more than tripled, to CNY 6.42 billion from CNY 1.71 billion in the year-earlier period. Adjusted EBITDA grew 34 percent to CNY 15.10 billion, while net profit was down 28 percent to CNY 5.98 billion due to costs for stock options and retiring debt and an increase in taxes.
