Almost half (44%) of Dutch now own a tablet - study

The number of tablet users in the Netherlands increased in the first half of the year by 1.3 million to 5.6 million, according to Intomart GfK's GfK Trends in Digital Media. The study concluded that 44 percent of all Dutch people aged 13 or older now own a tablet. The strongest growth was recorded in the group aged 13-17, growing to 39 percent in June from 10 percent the year before, and the group of over 65, to 33 percent from 15 percent. The number of smartphone users rose by 1 million to 8 million, with smartphone use among those older than 65 almost doubling in the last year to 32 percent
