Almost half phablet users use device as tablet

Monday 11 August 2014 | 09:49 CET | News
Dutch consumers with phablets often use them the same as a tablet. According to research from the Telecompaper Consumer Panel among around 200 phablet users, almost half (44%) use their phablet not as a smartphone, but as a tablet. Twenty-eight percent said the phablet is their most used tablet, while 16 percent use the device alongside another tablet. Just under half (49%) of the phablet owners make calls on the device, in addition to using other internet applications. For around a third (35%), the phablet is their most-used smartphone, while 14 percent use it as a second mobile phone.
