Almunia criticises "irrational" pressure in Google case

Outgoing EU competition commissioner Joaquin Almunia has slammed the "irrational" and "defensive" response of European politicians to his agency's long-running investigation of Google. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the antitrust chief revealed that he had faced unprecedented political pressure prior to taking the decision last month to reopen the four-year-old Google case for a fourth time.
