Google's parent company Alphabet confirmed the payment of USD 310 million in damages to settle a lawsuit brought by shareholders regarding its treatment of sexual misconduct allegations. In a blog post, the company's outgoing VP of People Operations, Eileen Naughton, said the company would prohibit severance packages for anyone sacked for any form of misconduct or anyone who is the subject of a sexual misconduct investigation. In addition, a special team will be assigned to investigate any allegations against executives and will report to the board's audit committee.
