Alphabet revenue grows 13% in Q3, starts share buyback

Alphabet, the new holding company for Google, reported revenues of USD 18.6 billion for the third quarter, an increase of 13 percent year-on-year. Growth slowed from 20 percent in in Q3 2014, due in part to the stronger dollar. Advertising revenue rose 13 percent to USD 16.8 billion, and the total number of paid clicks was up by nearly a quarter  (23%). The average cost per click fell 11 percent year-on-year. Alphabet's net profit rose to almost USD 4 billion from USD 2.7 billion a year earlier, and EPS rose to USD 5.73 from USD 3.98. The company ended the quarter with cash of USD 72.8
