Alphabet triples net profit in Q2, announces USD 25 bln share buyback

Alphabet reported a solid set of second-quarter results, with revenue growth strengthening slightly to 19 percent. At constant currency rates, sales were up 22 percent to USD 38.944 billion. The company's net profit soared to USD 9.947 billion from USD 3.195 billion a year earlier, when it was hit by a EU competition fine.
