Altaba to sell Alibaba shares and wind down company

Altaba, the successor company to Yahoo after it sold its media activities to Verizon, announced plans to liquidate the company. Its one remaining major asset is a stake in Alibaba, which will be distributed to shareholders. The pay-out is expected to total around USD 40 billion.
